Points Rummy is a fast-paced and thrilling variation of Indian rummy, popular among players of all skill levels in groups of 2 to 6. It features pre-assigned points with a predetermined rupee value.

In Points Rummy, you race to be the first player to declare a valid hand with two sequences, one of which must be a pure sequence, and the remaining cards arranged in sets (J♥ J♧ J♤) or sequences (8♤ 9♤ 10♤). After a player declares, the other players reveal their hands and calculate their points. The player with the lowest points in total wins the game.

• The points for each card are as follows:

If a player declares without a valid hand, they receive 80 penalty points. If a player drops out of the game, they receive 20 points for the first drop and 40 points for subsequent drops.

How To Play Points Cash rummy game?:

The game is played with two decks of 52 cards each, including jokers. Each player is dealt 13 cards.

Follow these steps to play the game: 

Step 1:

Deal the cards

The dealer shuffles the cards and deals 13 cards to each player. The remaining cards are placed face down in a closed pile, with one card face up to start the open pile.

Step 2:

Gameplay

Players take turns picking a card from either the open pile or the closed pile, and discarding one card to the open pile. Players can also pick up a Joker from the open pile or the closed pile, and use it to replace any card in their hand.

Step 3:

Making a declaration

To make a declaration, a player must have at least two sequences, out of which at least one must be a pure sequence. A pure sequence is three or more cards of the same suit in consecutive order. The other sequence can be a pure sequence, an impure sequence, or a combination of both. An impure sequence is three or more cards of the same suit in consecutive order, with one or more Jokers used to complete the sequence.

Scoring

The winner of the game is the first player to make a valid declaration. The losing players are scored based on the unmatched cards in their hands. Face cards and aces are worth 10 points each, numbered cards are worth their face value, and Jokers are worth zero points.

Example of a valid declaration:

A player has the following cards in their hand: 3♣ 4♣ 5♣ / 6♠ 7♠ 8♠ 🃏 / 9♦ 10♦ J♦ / 2♦

The player can make a valid declaration by discarding the 2♦ card.
